We believe every person and every family has the right to good health
We see health as a public good. That’s why we focus on supporting the public health system –from the first point of contact in the community to primary care centres and secondary hospitals. When each part of this system works well, care becomes more accessible, reliable, and humane.
Our journey in this domain began in 2022 and has been growing steadily since. Along the way, a few principles continue to guide us:
- Healthy lives for both individuals and families go beyond healthcare access — prevention, awareness, and well-being are equally important.
- A strong frontline community health system is essential, supported by effective primary and secondary care.
- Only a resilient and well-functioning public health system can deliver affordable, sustainable care for all over the long term.
We work directly on the ground through our Field Institutes in rural geographies and through a significant initiative in Bengaluru. Alongside, we also strengthen the health workforce through education and training. To expand access to care for underserved communities, we are also setting up 30 hospitals and a medical college, bringing essential services closer to those who need them the most. Alongside, we also strengten the health workforce through education and training.
We collaborate with health organisations working in remote geographies, supporting them with grants to expand and deepen their reach. At the same time, we are building a nationwide network of public-spirited hospitals to ensure that affordable care reaches more communities.
Our field studies and research grants under Health focus on practical, ground-level challenges in public health. Through our Fellowships, we give health professionals valuable hands-on experience working with underserved communities.
Finally, The Health Worker provides a credible, accessible voice on issues of public health, bringing insights, learning and stories from the field.
