How do I get a library membership?
The Azim Premji Foundation Libraries offers free membership to the public. Please visit the library in-person for the same.
Can I borrow books?
Certainly! You may borrow books from the Field Institute library in your locality; please contact the librarian for more information. University libraries offer membership for access to all resources within the premises.
What are the library timings?
10 am to 5 pm on Monday to Saturday, the library will remain close during foundation holidays.
How do I know about the resources available in the library?

How will I know if my application has been received?
You will get an automated email from either the faculty positions email ID or open positions email ID (depending on the ID you have applied to), stating that your application has been received.
Will you contact me regarding the status of my application?
As and when there is an update regarding the application from the review team, we will update the candidate on the next stages of the process. However, if the candidate wishes to enquire regarding the same, they can proceed to write to the email ID that they had applied to with their query, following which we will get back to them regarding the status of their application.
What’s the interview process and how do I get started?
The interview process varies for teaching and non-teaching roles. The process will be intimated to the candidate if their application has been taken ahead. For any job posting, the candidate can go to the official University job postings website (https://azimpremjiuniversity.edu.in/jobs). This will direct them to the page with all the current job postings. Each job posting has a clearly defined process of application, which includes the location of the job posting, the type of engagement, the role, the area of specialization, along with the job description, the requirements and the application procedure with the required documents mentioned. The candidate can then share the required documents to the email ID specified as mentioned above, following which it will be reviewed by the team.
Will I be considered for positions other than the one I submitted my resume for?
Following the submission of the candidate’s application, the resume and documents shared are reviewed for suitability and relevance for the role they have applied for as well as any other roles they might be suitable for. If they are more suitable for a role other than the one they have applied for, the same will be intimated to the candidate. If they would like to proceed, we will take their application ahead and get back to them with an update on the progress of their application.

Can I automatically be notified when new positions open?

Yes, you can apply for multiple positions, however based on your relevant experience the application will be processed accordingly.

What kinds of experiences can I gain?
You would build your experience of the school and community, to enable you to:
- Do classroom teaching learning.
- Build an understanding on education bottom up – from the school / village level upwards.
- Relate to school as a system and the systemic elements that impact its functioning.
- Understand the inter-linkages of the school with the community, and local governance.
- Understand the governance, administrative structures of the education system, interact with various departments in the state/district.
- Understand the need for systemic process for professional development of practicing teachers, participate in activities relating to teacher professional development and support.
Will there be an initial orientation?
Yes, there will be an initial orientation. This orientation will be held after one month of the Associate’s joining.
Where will I stay and work?
You will be based in selected blocks of our District Institutes in the states below:
- Chhattisgarh
- Karnataka
- Madhya Pradesh
- Rajasthan
- Uttarakhand
Since I will be working in rural India, do I need to know the local language?
Yes, it is very important to be able to read and write in the local language. For example: if you are posted to District Institute, Sirohi, you should be able to read, write and speak in Hindi.
Will I be given an accommodation at the District Institute? How should I search for it?
There is no accommodation provided by the Foundation. Once you move to the block location, you will be provided 10-14 days of accommodation, after which you will need to arrange your own accommodation. Members at the District Institute will provide support for the same.
What will be the compensation and benefits offered to me?
You will receive a monthly salary of Rs.36,000/-. (taxes and statutory deductions will apply). Besides salary, you will also be covered under various insurances like Health, Life and Accident Insurance. Apart from this, Associates are also eligible for allowances such as Relocation and Housing Deposit Assistance (as per organisational policy).
What support will I receive during the first year of my work?
You will have mentors assigned to you for the year, from whom you will receive continuous support.
