The Foundation works on diverse areas through our partners. These areas are carefully selected to ensure long-term, consistent efforts towards improving the lives of the most vulnerable segments of the population. Our initiatives span from offering shelter to the homeless in Bengaluru to enhancing access to essential services for Adivasi communities in regions like Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand.

We also work to strengthen civil society in India in these areas, through capacity building, enabling networks of advocacy and supporting government initiatives.

Our Art and Culture function takes the purpose of the Foundation to the people of India through stories. Storytelling has the potential to inspire meaningful changes in social attitudes and belief, and we deliver stories — of our work, our milestones, our learnings and aspirations — through radio and podcasts, art, music and film.

Articulating the Foundation’s vision of a just, equitable, humane, and sustainable society in conversational ways through stories that enhance public understanding

Children

Working on vulnerable children’s needs and rights for survival, development, protection and participation

Constitutional Values

Fellowships and youth programmes to promote values enshrined in the Constitution

Disability

Vulnerabilities of persons with physical or intellectual disabilities, mental health issues

Gender Justice

Gender-based violence, issues around adolescent girls, gender and sexual minorities

Governance

Improving last-mile access to welfare services, access to justice for the vulnerable, strengthening local democracy

Land and Forest

Issues of small and marginal farmers; landless, water-deficient communities; Adivasis, pastoralists and ‘denotified’ groups

Strengthening Civil Society

Building institutional capacity and programmatic understanding and delivery of CBOs and early-stage CSOs, and strengthening CSOs in the area of leadership, governance, basic systems and processes

Urban Initiatives

Issues affecting vulnerable people in urban spaces, such as the homeless, the aged and migrant workers

Water

In the area of Water, we seek to address gaps in drinking water and irrigation in water-scarce areas
