Learning Guarantee Programme

LGP Evaluators Training In 2002, through the Learning Guarantee Programme, we took a close look at the enrolment, attendance and learning outcomes of 1,903 lower and higher primary schools in north-east Karnataka. Accelerated Learning Programme

The quality of education depends heavily on the availability of teaching and guidance. To improve learning competency in 1,029 schools in 16 blocks of north-east Karnataka, we undertook a rigorous process to identify children in government schools and appoint teachers to assist them in maintaining their learning competencies. Child-friendly School Initiatives This was an attempt to develop and improve learning levels of children by providing them a safe, healthy, hygienic and happy environment. Andhra Pradesh Randomised Evaluation Studies

andhrapradesh Here, we worked with economists from Princeton University and the World Bank Development Economics Research to conduct a series of evaluations. Our aim was to improve educational outcomes of students in rural India. We provided extra teachers and grants to schools for classroom materials and examined the role of health on student performance and attendance. Education for Children of Migrant Labour Programme

AzimPremjiSchools The children of migrant labourers, who move to cities in search of employment, face disruption of education due to the nature of their parents’ work. Often relegated to living in makeshift housing at construction sites and under flyovers, countless such children grow up without basic education and facilities. We at the Foundation seek to bring them into the fold of school education, by designing a curriculum that include all children regardless of their ability.
