Our work in Jharkhand started in 2022.
We currently work in the districts of Gumla, Ranchi, Simdega and Khunti. Our work spans Education, Health, Livelihoods, and other areas.

Education
We engage with around 3,500 teachers through various modes such as block- and cluster-level workshops, Baal Shodh Mela, Voluntary Teachers Forum, and large-scale summer and winter camps. In 2026, the Azim Premji School in Itki block of Ranchi will be operational.

Azim Premji University
Azim Premji University was established in 2010. Its third campus is in Itki, on the outskirts of Ranchi. Spread over 150 acres, the University campus will also have a hospital as well as a medical college. The construction will be phased out over five to seven years. The first phase is slated for completion by July 2026. MA in Applied Economics and MA in Development will be the first two programmes offered at this campus.
Azim Premji Scholarship
Launched in 2024 to support girl students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue college education, the Scholarship initiative now covers all districts of Jharkhand.
Health
We began our health work in Jharkhand in January 2024. Our focus spans maternal and child health, adolescent health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and family planning. Our goal is to strengthen the public health system and help improve last-mile delivery of essential services.

Creches
The creches, launched in September 2023 in Jharkhand, seek to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable children in the age group of seven months to three years. Called ‘Shishu Ghar’, these creches provide daily care, hot cooked meals, early stimulation, and growth monitoring. We run creches in 18 blocks of Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, West Singhbhum, and Pakur districts.
